Sustainability: when words become action
Being sustainable nowadays seems a duty both for a company and for each of us in our own small.
But how really to be as such?
We at PIÚINFORMA® act in this direction trying to make our contribution to all those subjects who want to be incisive in these issues.
Our field of action revolves around the world of automatic distribution, an area in which the amount produced of waste is enormous. It is estimated, in fact, that vending in Italy every year generates 650 million plastic bottles and 5 billion coffee glasses and this involves a total of 60 million tons of CO2 emitted into the environment to dispose of such waste. So how can we be sustainable in this area?
To reduce carbon dioxide emissions, it is possible to compact the waste in the place where it is produced, with the use, for example, of a compactor that allows to reduce the volume of the same by 90% and thus decrease the number of revolutions to transport it to disposal centers. Alongside this, it is possible to become sustainable by trying to eliminate packaging material such as plastic to make way for compostable materials that fall within the cycle of staff management or to encourage the consumption of beverages from distributors using reusable containers brought from home. It is also reasonable to try to change the way drinks are consuming by dispensing them from a mixer and using (compostable) glass.
In addition, the sustainability we propose is the acceptance of paying a little more for a product because of the quality offered by it. In fact, the world of so-called “mono-consumption” has always been seen as a source of junk food, extremely harmful to our organism. However, at PIÚINFORMA® we seek sustainability precisely in this field and promote those products whose raw materials are selected and are a guarantee of quality, which is transversal to the entire production chain. Sustainability, therefore, also at the table, where it means learning to choose, starting from the small breaks of every day.
